www.lifeofkittydoeshealthy.tumblr.com

I’ve actually just decided that I’m going to make a new tumblr and just password protect this one, because I don’t want to delete it xD

It’ll be more linked to my actual blog - www.lifeofkitty.co.uk - because I do think that tumblr is an awesome place for fitness/health inspiration and all that.

So, www.lifeofkittydoeshealthy.tumblr.com will be the new blog… Once I’ve got it looking right I’m going to start following everyone that I remember loving on here… See you on the other side!

A lot has changed…

I haven’t been on this account for over 6 months and I’m not sure whether I’m going to use it properly but I thought I would write a little.

My four and a half year relationship ended last week, and it’s really been difficult. I wasn’t expecting it at all and I just feel a little lost right now.

I bought a bike this summer and I’ve been going out on that. When I get back to university (mid-september) I will be joining the gym, and I’m also looking into the athletics club. It sounds really good and is for all levels. I haven’t run properly for a year now, just one or two short runs in that time. I’m looking forward to getting back into it. Really wanting to try cross country I think, though track running looks cool. I guess they’ll help me with knowing whether my body is more suited to long distance or sprints.

I’m also looking to start meal planning, and also trying to eat clean. Now I’m not going to be sticking to this religiously straight away - I’m just going to try to incorporate it as much as possible. I’m still a student, I still don’t have a lot of money so I’m going to buy fresh and healthy as much as I can, but I understand that I may have times where it won’t be entirely possible. If anyone has any great recipes, please link me!

So yeah, update…

Tracy Lewis, firefighter.
"Of the roughly 11,500 firefighters in New York City, only 31 are women. My first year, I ran up 13 flights of stairs wondering how I’d get to the top. But I made sure I stayed right behind the officer, while the other guys straggled behind. Now, six years later, I’m the only woman in my firehouse, along with 11 men. My team carries the hoses: When a 50-foot-long hose is filled with water, it can be extremely heavy.
Fifty percent of my job is muscular strength; the rest is cardiovascular endurance and technique. Firefighting is about practice and training. I knew a guy from the military who thought he would ace the physical test just because he had huge muscles-and he had to retake it twice! The first thing female recruits say is that they’re not strong enough to be firefighters. But how do they know? We train for three months, working as hard as our male counterparts. If the men do 30 push-ups, we do them, too. My position wasn’t handed to me; I worked for it. When I look at my body, I see years of training.”

BABY MORAY EELS ARE A WORLDWIDE FIRST

There are over 200 species of Moray eels. Worldwide, not one of them had been successfully bred until recently. At Zoo Vienna Schönbrunn in Austria, a Black Ribbon Moray laid a clutch of fertilized eggs. This fact alone is quite a sensation. But it gets better: some larvae even hatched!

"It is the first time that the hatching of Morays could be observed. Up to now, nobody knew what the larvae look like, what they eat and how they behave“, explains the zoo’s director Dagmar Schratter.

The breeding of Morays is completely new territory. The successful event in Schönbrunn Zoo supplies the first information - completely unknown up to now - about the development of their eggs and larvae.

LILY ALLEN - Hard Out Here

Feminism, inclusivity and Thicke bashing - what else do you want?! This is just GREAT.

INCLUSIVITY? IS THIS A FUCKING JOKE?

EXCUSE ME WHILE I GAG ON ALL THE BULLSHIT.

THIS IS A FUCKING DISGRACE.

THIS IS NOT TRUE FEMINISM.

I don’t really see the problem with this? It’s legit just pointing out the double standard for women when it comes to their sex lives, life choices and appearances. How is that not an act of feminism?

because she has women of color dancing around her like props shaking their asses and twerking? definitely not “inclusive” and also extremely racist. nope nope nope.

Maybe I am mistaken, but I feel like, given the general tone of the song, that she’s actually making fun of Miley Cyrus and other people that use WOC as props? I think it’s meant to be done satirically, because all the women keep licking stuff and all of the women of colour are slapping each other’s asses and stuff like in Miley’s “We Can’t Stop” video. Idk, could be wrong, those are just my thoughts.

Jesus fucking CHRIST WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE ON HERE
SIT THE FUCK DOWN
if you have even listened to the song you’d hear the part where she goes “if you can’t detect the sarcasm then you’re missing the point”
THAT, FRIENDS, IS FUCKING AIMED AT YOU
TUMBLR “JUSTICE” MAKES ME SO FUCKING MAD
PICK YOUR BATTLES, THIS DEFINITELY SHOULDNT BE ONE, LILY DESERVES SUPPORT FOR THIS, SHES BRINGING TO LIGHT SOME REAL FUCKED UP ISSUES GOING ON AT THE MOMENT
IT IS CALLED SATIRE
FOR FUCKS SAKE

Occasionally I wake up and really love how my stomach looks.
I haven’t done any (planned/formal) exercise since getting to university.
It’s a 3 mile round walk to uni, and I’ve been working weekends at my new job. Walking loads, just moving about a lot at work, including squatting down and lifting boxes has done wonders.
And then other days I just look really bloated.
